UW Medical Center-Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Nurse Manager (job profile: Registered Nurse 3) at our Center for Reconstructive Surgery.

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    The Center for Reconstructive Surgery provides an array of general reconstructive and plastic surgical services. We provide a full spectrum of breast reconstruction services, including autologous and implant options. We provide surgical options for lymphedema, ranging from bypass operations to lymph node transfers. We also provide comprehensive oncologic reconstructions for skin tumors and sarcoma.
    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establishes and maintains credibility as leader of day-to-day operations of the clinic
  • Provides leadership for clinical and administrative functions
  • Promotes effective communication among staff and patients
  • Identifies staff and resource problems and takes necessary steps towards a resolution
  • Leads the hiring processes for medical assistants and RNs
  • Implements and manages orientation and educational programs for staff
  • Schedules staff work hours
  • Resolves unplanned absences, following Ambulatory Services Resource Pool Protocols
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains work processes to ensure the clinic runs successfully
  • Establishes and maintains safety and emergency protocols for the clinic
  • Assists providers with minor procedures, including excisions, wound debridement, and tissue expansions.
  • Performs RN2 responsibilities (including wound care and complex dressing changes) and general responsibilities when needed
    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of current or recent nursing experience with surgical patients
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery and/or RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington
