Assistant Field Manager

Overview:

The role of assistant field manager requires an individual with a hard work ethic and carries many responsibilities. This individual would be assisting their field manager with daily operations, having an overall objective of ensuring projects are running smoothly. This role would be exclusively within the commercial division of Rainbow G&J Painting. This position requires a valid driver’s license as the individual would be assigned a company pick-up truck which they would use for transportation while working. Rainbow G&J Painting’s commercial division’s territory is the entire state of NJ, so the individual applying for this job has to be comfortable with drives of long distances and being in a truck for extended periods of the day. The individual would have to provide their own means of transportation to and from our office located in Manville, NJ each day. 


This role will require an individual who is physically fit and capable of loading materials in and out of a pick-up truck. Each morning, the individual will be given their daily tasks for the day and from that point they will be spending majority of the day on their own ensuring the tasks are successfully completed.
Throughout the day, this individual’s reporting manager will be a phone call away and communication between the two will be frequent.

The following responsibilities serve as an example of the most common daily tasks completed by the individual in this position within Rainbow G&J Painting;

• Picking up and delivering job-site materials (paint, stain, siding, lumber, etc.)
• Visiting job-sites to check on quality control and job progression
• Creating project status reports for property managers
• Building inspections for rotted wood or prior damage
• Priming siding in our yard

Experience is not required but any prior experience in painting, construction, or project management would be helpful. The individual for this role is required to speak English. Spanish is not required but if spoken, this would be beneficial for the role. Rainbow G&J Painting is a growing company and this position offers the potential of growth within the company based on job performance. Bonuses based on job performance are also offered. This is a year round position with at least 40 hours per week. During our busy season (May - September) overtime hours can be expected as well as having the ability to work the occasional Saturday.
