Church Mouse
About Us:
The Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea’s Church Mouse, a 4,500 square foot retail shop, located on South County Road in Palm Beach, just north of Worth Avenue, is recognized as one of the top donation-based resale shops in the country! The Church Mouse provides most of the outreach funds used by the Bethesda-by-the-Sea to minister and help those in need.
Accountability
Reports to the Church Mouse General Manager to gain accountability, direction and needs assessment. This is a full-time position.
Qualifications
- Reputation of a Christ-like attitude.
- Physical and emotional good health and social poise.
- Ability to articulate the mission and vision of the church and its ministries.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous assignments
- Proven work experience in a retail environment in a supervisory role with knowledge of management systems and procedures.
- Ability to perform in fast paced environment.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, verbal, and written skills, capable of building trusting relationships.
- Knowledge of inventory restocking procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.
- Basic math skills.
- High School (or high school equivalent) diploma or higher. BS in Marketing or related field a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality.
- Must display a Christ-like attitude when relating with others.
- Must demonstrate a high level of trust.
- Must display the ability to communicate well, both verbally and written.
- Develop procedure for handling complaints and problems.
- Recognize the need for good public relations. Represent the church, and its ministries, in a favorable and professional manner, to the staff and to the public.
- Answer door, greet, and help those coming into office in a friendly and professional manner.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines identified in the Bethesda Employee Manual.
- Responsible for opening and closing the store according to a designated schedule.
- Responsible for opening and closing registers.
- Making sure the store is clean and properly organized.
- Assist with training store employees and volunteers.
- Scheduling employees and volunteers.
- Addressing customer requests and inquiries in the store or by phone.
- Responsible for assisting with replenishing stock of goods on the salesfloor in a timely basis.
- Assist with the coordination and scheduling of customer donation pick-up and delivery.
- Support manager in the oversight of employees and volunteers with emphasis on driving sales and providing a great customer experience.
- Supporting the general manager when needed.
- Other duties as necessary or assigned.
Job Demands:
- Continuous standing, walking, repetitive hand and/or wrist and elbow / shoulder motion.
- Lifting and lowering weights of 1-15 pounds from/to floor to counter height or above
- Intermittent climbing and working at heights (climb a ladder).
- Intermittent sitting, bending, crouching, pushing, pulling or reaching.
- Lifting or lowering weights of 10-25 pounds from / to floor to shoulder or above.
- Use of cleaning agents.
