Assistant Maintenance Manager – Food Manufacturing
THIS ROLE IS LOCATED BOISE IDAHO AND WILL REQUIRE RELOCATION IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE BOISE AREA.
Are you ready to ensure the seamless and safe operation of our entire plant while focusing on production quality and our people? As the Assistant Maintenance Manager, you'll be at the forefront of identifying, investigating, and resolving any issues that arise, all while supervising our maintenance team and providing hands-on assistance when needed. Leading your team in effective decision-making regarding safety, production, and plant goals, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and minimizing downtime for all manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Assistant Maintenance ManagerKey Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and promptly order parts when necessary.
- Train employees on the correct usage of equipment to enhance productivity and safety.
- Input and maintain inventory information in our computer system, overseeing all aspects of inventory control.
- Maintain maintenance budget records to optimize resource allocation.
- Handle shipping and receiving tasks for the Plant.
- Organize and maintain inventory, identifying and disposing of obsolete items.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms, exploring alternative options for better efficiency.
- Assist with parts room inventory management as required.
- Collaborate with the manager and superintendent to develop cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct research, simulations, and comparisons to inform decision-making processes, implementing new reporting tools as needed.
- Propose technical and organizational improvements to line management and actively participate in trials and testing.
- Plan and schedule manpower in alignment with production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols, identifying and mitigating occupational hazards.
- Take proactive measures to prevent potential risks and address unsafe practices or environments.
Education:
- Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
Experience:
- 3 – 6 years’ experience in a maintenance department or equivalent role.
- 5 – 6 years of management experience.
Specialized Knowledge:
- Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus, Kronos, Ultraware, Syswin, and AB software.
- Experience in Food Manufacturing and management.
Salary: $90k to $100k/yr
