Job description

Buehler’s Fresh Foods is an employee-owned chain of 13 grocery stores located in northeast Ohio. Our employees share a genuine concern for quality and to take care of the customer. We are always “Putting People First” whether it be our customers or our employees.
We are looking for an employee who can join us as a Full-time (30-40 hrs per wk), Part-time (20-30 hrs per wk) or a Seasonal (up to 20 hrs per week) team member. The Buehler’s Restaurant Lead is responsible for all aspects of FOH or the dining area to ensure that our loyal customers have an exceptional dining experience each and every time they chose to dine with us. This important position works closely with both the FOH Team as well as the BOH team to ensure that each meal is delivered to the customer in a timely manner. One of our company strategies is to become the Best in Food Service and that starts with one meal at a time.

A typical day for a Restaurant Lead may include:
Seat our customers in a timely manner as they enter the restaurant
Ensure the customer is greeted by the server, a drink order is taken and assist if needed
Ensure the tables are cleaned promptly after customers leave and assist busser as needed
Hire, onboard and train new employees for FOH
Schedule FOH employees to ensure proper coverage for the lunch and dinner rush and during special holidays
Schedule FOH employees for catering events as needed
Responsible for employee recognition, retention and engagement
Assist BOH as needed with food prep including operate the grill, fryers and related equipment
Set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems if needed
Comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards, and housekeeping to keep the work area clean
Observe proper food handling techniques
Store food properly and safely, mark and date item
Responsible for ordering, maintaining stock levels and inventories
Table Touches to make sure we exceed customer expectations

Understand that this is not designed to cover all the duties that are required, and there may be changes to your duties or responsibilities without notice

Availability Needed…
Must be available to be scheduled 35+hrs a week, five days a week, based on department needs. Must be available to be scheduled for a weekend rotation.

Our legal team wants you to know what’s required for this role:
Attain at least 18 years of age
Able to occasionally be required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 40# and occasionally 60#
Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
Able to work within our kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives…so frequently you will be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individual with disability to perform the essential functions

Extra Awesome:
Previous Restaurant Lead experience or familiarity with food service operations
Demonstrates leadership skills and growth potential
