Position Summary
- The Assistant Teacher and/or Floater is responsible for creating an atmosphere that is positive for learning and that stimulates critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making with children, in accordance with Lightbridge Academy Mission, Vision and Core Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in delivering quality classroom experiences by ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to parents by going above and beyond, including assisting parents during arrival and departure, and addressing any other questions and concerns promptly and effectively.
- Always maintain interaction with children during small and whole group interactive learning.
- Supervise children during daily outdoor recess.
- Ensure proper staff/child ratio as set by the state licensing entity.
- Participate in weekly mini meetings in conjunction with Lead Teachers/assistant teachers and other meetings as needed.
- Participate in required trainings and meetings, and travel to off-site trainings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be willing to work in any age group and/or classroom at any time of the day.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of one (1) year of paid child care experience, classroom experience.
- Maintain continuing education requirements per company and state requirements.
