The Assistant Golf Professional assists in the daily golf operations of the Golf Shop, outside services and tournament
functions. The Assistant Golf Professional should have demonstrated experience of excellent human and public relations skills.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Pro Shop opening and closing duties
- Scheduling tee times and answers questions regarding the use of golf facilities
- Checking in both daily resort, public, and member play.
- Conduct individual and group lessons
- Assist fellow professional staff in supervision of Outside Service Staff - while emphasizing the importance of member and guest service
- Assist with all aspects of merchandising - Displays, organization of goods, and sales
- Assist in organization and set up of golf tournaments
- Assist in management of Handicap program
- Develop relationships with members, guests, and colleagues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Professionally conduct oneself and maintain a professional image at all times
- Dedication to the game of golf and determination to achieve Class A status
- Perform all other duties as directed.

- Minimum of 1 year experience working in the golf industry (pro shop experience preferred)
- Currently enrolled as an associate of the PGA of America
- Computer knowledge, including Microsoft platforms, tournament programs, POS, tee time and internet software.
- Basic knowledge of golf course operations
- Possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work in cooperation with co-workers efficiently. Be a team player.
- Available to work weekends and holidays.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
