Job Summary
The assistant Clinical Coordinator(s) must be responsible for coordinating clinical education as assigned by the program director. The Clinical Coordinator must evaluate and ensure the effectiveness of the clinical affiliate/clinical education centers. The Clinical Coordinator's responsibilities must include coordination, instruction, and evaluation. The responsibilities of the Clinical Coordinator must not be adversely affected by educationally unrelated functions.
General Accountabilities
- Responsible for the coordination of students at the assigned DMS program clinical affiliates.
- Reviews and tracks student progress throughout their clinical experience.
- Work closely with the Career Services Director to ensure that clinical experience provides optimal results for the needs of students.
- Advise students as needed.
- Maintain student records, i.e., grades, attendance, competencies, etc.
- Coordinates the gathering of agency-specific documentation necessary for student placement into the clinical affiliates when applicable.
- Participate in program, department, school, and college-wide committees.
- Maintain current knowledge of sonographic and/or other diagnostic techniques and methodology through continuing professional development.
- Maintains compliance with annual in-service requirements as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree from a regionally accredited College or University.
- Must be a current ARDMS credentialed sonographer in Abdomen or OB/GYN.
- Experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer preferred.
