Assistant General Manager (Agm)

Chicago Marriot Northwest is looking for a Hotel AGM (Assistant General Manager) to perform various functions, including providing good leadership, communication, and coordination to their team members in ensuring the smooth operation of their hotels.

The Assistant General Manager should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives. The AGM must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.Also, should have FSPMS experience (Marriott Hotels)

To be a successful Assistant General Manager, you should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities. The AGM must be able to motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale. A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills. The AGM should be firm, but also approachable.

Here are the major responsibilities, tasks, and duties that usually define the job description of a hotel AGM :

• Keeping an eye on all the operations of the hotel, including activities of all departments
• Inspecting all the rooms regularly in order to check if they are keeping up with the hotel standards
• Responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising staff
• Responsible for managing budgets
• Planning maintenance works, events, and room bookings
• Managing and coordinating employees’ duties (receptionist, janitor, clerks, and so on)
• Motivating workers and promoting teamwork to ensure optimum service and guests’ needs are met
• Organizing and coordinating the use and rental of hotel spaces for social events, meetings, and parties, and conferences, etc.
• Ensuring good, smooth, and effective interaction with guests
• Monitoring daily and monthly revenue generated, as well as cost and expenses
• Keeping track of budgets and expenses, including reviewing financial reports and statements
• Upholding the guidelines established by the hotel owner and ensuring that employees adhere to the laid down rules and guidelines
• Cooperating with the General Manager, and assisting with anything from project planning to staff management.
• Nurturing positive working relationships with staff.
• Delegating daily tasks.
• Addressing any issues in a timely fashion.
• Supervising staff and controlling merchandise.
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Setting a good example for staff.

PREREQUISITES:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding, management skills and extensive hands-on experience. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights. Minimum 5 years of experince in Hotel business, and minimum 1 year of Marriott FSPMS expierence is mandatory.

Assistant General Manager Requirements:

• Degree in business administration or similar.
• Must have FSPMS experience (Marriott Hotels).
• Great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Good observation skills.
• An ability to deliver constructive criticism.
• Computer literate and basic Math skills.
• An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
