Frequently supervises professional teams working on legal matters. Work generally involves handling matters of substantial importance.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES* Performs as a specialist in regulatory and administrative law, provides technical and expert legal services to Exelon Business Units and has strong comprehension of the electric and/or gas utility business.* Under little or no supervision, plans, conducts and supervises large and highly complex legal assignments; evaluates both legal and business risks and advises clients; accordingly, represents Exelon in regulatory proceedings, litigation or other relevant matters.* Provides legal counsel to all levels of management, including executive management.* Provides lead direction and/or project leadership direction to less experienced attorneys and support staff.* Prepares and manages budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.* Projects / duties as assigned.JOB SCOPE* Manages relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel.* Demonstrates superior business knowledge in portions of the business and industry; anticipates and understands trends in areas of law related to the business.* Strong leadership skills: ability to work in stressful conditions under time deadlines.* Strong communication and presentation skills.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in Delaware.* At least 8-12 years of professional experience in a specialized area of law.* Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of the legal field to the completion of complex assignments.* Requires excellent legal research, writing, and analytical abilities and an ongoing knowledge of federal and/or state law.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* Experience with handling matters before public utility commissions.* Experience with major regulatory policy issues such as climate solution initiatives.* Experience in major corporate transactions, such as mergers/acquisitions.
