We are looking for an Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage to join the team at Absinthe at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The Assistant Manager of Food & Beverage will be responsible for managing a high-energy team to serve quality food & drinks with impeccable customer service while adhering to our standard of service. This position will ensure that the restaurant and  team operate smoothly from inventory to staffing to service, this person will make sure the food & beverage program can be successful. The ideal candidate should be comfortable being a hands-on and active manager - with guests and the team. This role reports to the Food and Beverage Director.  This is a salaried role at $47,840 / year. 

In this position you primarily responsibilities will be to: 

  • Assists in overseeing all Food and Beverage operations for the venue.
  • Visible in the operation, actively participating in service and daily operations. 
  • Assist in selecting, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, and coaching Food and Beverage employees to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  • Performing pre- and post-service checks; ensuring the team is aware of specialty Food and Beverage selections and VIP guests.
  • Responsible for communicating daily changes that pertains to the shift (new menu items, price changes, etc.) as well as daily employee edits after shift.
  • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, setting the standard for excellence in the venue.
  • Monitoring quality of Food and Beverages while maintaining the highest standards of guest service.
  • Monitoring and tracking inventory and communicating orders to the Food and Beverage Manager as necessary.
  • Inspecting Food and Beverage equipment regularly and arranging for preventive maintenance as necessary.
  • Performing open and closing procedures including reconciling cash and credit transactions to ensure accurate charges and balanced registers.
  • Resolves complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner.
  • Assist with duties of other Food and Beverage employees, when necessary, because of unexpected absence or extra volume.
  • Promotes cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.
  • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace. 
  • Other duties assigned by the Food and Beverage Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years working in a high-end restaurant with at least 3 years managing people.
  • Highschool diploma or GED. A bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Hands-on experience and working knowledge of POS and bar management software, like Bread Crumb, Toast, and Seven Rooms.
  • Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce company policies regarding the consumption of alcohol.
  • Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Able to lift or carry up to 50lbs.
  • Proven people management, motivation, and development skills to be an inspirational leader to your team.
  • Well-developed interest in beverage, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients to inform guests and staff.
  • Passion for ensuring you and your team deliver the highest standards consistently and ensuring that the guest is at the center of the experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments.
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude and a can-do approach to any request.
  • Able to work in a nightlife atmosphere with loud music and flashing lights.
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and have valid work authorization for the US
