About the Role

Spiegelworld is looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join the team at Absinthe at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for managing a high-energy team to serve quality food and drinks with impeccable customer service while adhering to our standards and protocols. This position will ensure that the restaurant and team operate smoothly from inventory to staffing to service, this person will make sure the food and beverage program can be successful.  The ideal candidate should be comfortable being a hands-on and active manager - with guests and team. The salary for this position is $47,840/year. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with managing the quality of the Green Fairy Garden, including bars, coffee cart, and food truck.
  • Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.
  • Provides and holds team members accountable to create unparalleled customer service.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees.
  • Coordinate with new hires to have all uniforms, parking passes, and certifications needed. 
  • Facilitating food and beverage liquor activations on-site.
  • Maintaining an active presence on the floor of Absinthe.
  • Monitoring F&B employees throughout each shift.
  • Cash tip distribution to all tipped employees.
  • Sending weekly invoices.
  • Counting the manager safe nightly.
  • Sending safe counts and reimbursements to Spiegelworld finance.
  • Aiding in the development of new initiatives that pertain to various aspects of the Absinthe site.
  • Learning and maintaining knowledge and guidelines with the union through Caesar's CBA.
  • Maintaining and updating all Toast operations for our menu.
  • Keep track and weekly ordering of all food and beverage supplies as needed.
  • Submitting nightly sales reports.
  • Handling and executing day of Banquet Event Orders. 
  • Delivers disciplinary actions to employees as needed.
  • Coordinates with the production team on needs, repairs, and changes. 
  • Working through employee discipline when necessary.
  • Working with People & Culture to ensure everyone works in a safe, harassment free environment.
  • Maintaining Standards of Practice for each F&B position.
  • Filtering and implementing feedback from employees pertaining to initiatives in the garden.
  • Attends any required manager meetings.
  • Holds pre-shift meetings with employees.
  • Receives and handles any employee complaints or issues.
  • Maintains floor presence in the Green Fairy Garden during the pre and post-show rush.
  • Keeps an eye out for potential customer issues and prevents escalation
  • Consistently monitors the safe balance in order to coordinate cash deposits.
  • Always wear an appropriate work uniform.
  • Completes and submits paperwork for injuries and incidents.
  • Documents, records, and reports any incidents that occur on site.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Working collaboratively through duties and initiatives assigned by Company/General Management.

What You bring

  • Must complete OSHA 30 within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have Certified Food Protection Manager Card or obtain it within 15 days of employment.
  • Have  experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of culinary unions and procedures is suggested.
  • A bachelor’s degree in hospitality or hotel/restaurant management is desirable. 
  • Knowledge of Toast is desirable. 
  • Experience in the Las Vegas or nightlife market is a plus.
  • Proven people management, motivation, and development skills to be an inspirational leader to your team. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in an always changing, never dull, creative environment that creates memorable moments.
  • Possesses excellent communication (written and verbal), financial acumen and business management abilities.
  • The ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal. 
  • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Background check clearance
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US.

  • Work is performed in a high volume professional foodservice and theater environment.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, to stand for long periods of time, and to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
