The Assistant Financial Controller will directly support the Financial Controller handling day-to-day accounting functions, and simultaneously take on higher level projects to improve processes and efficiencies within the organization. Projects and general duties will include journal entries, adjustments, depreciation & amortization, reconciliation projects, auditing processes, streamlining complex financial tracking and creating accurate and consistent reports for Senior Management and Investors.

The preferred background for this position is a CPA with at least 7 years’ experience working with or within a real estate investment firm. Individuals with a working knowledge of AppFolio, Yardi, or other property management/real estate software will be favored. Great communication, accounting operations, and analytical skills are a must.
The position will start with close to 100% of the time in the business office, and the opportunity to shift to a “hybrid” office/home schedule as processes and relationships fall into place. The firm is based in the North Bay Area and has business offices in both Marin and Sonoma Counties. This role can be performed in either location.
