What We're Looking For
A bachelor's degree, two years of relevant work experience, and a Christian faith are required. A master's degree and four years of relevant work experience are preferred.
This position may or may not be considered for remote work - the final decision will be made by the business unit. There are openings in multiple business units across the University. A combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
- Manage and oversee the Student Support team for student success and retention
- Supervise the Graduate Academic Support Specialists by ensuring that:
- All students are contacted regarding their enrollment and academic requirements
- All transcripts and documents for the academic and clinical programs are obtained from students
- All student records are updated with LOAs, new Plans of Study, extended graduation dates, and program withdraws
- Manage and resolve (when possible) escalated student issues related to
- Program policies, rules, and procedure
- Problems with registration schedules
- Petition/waiver process
- Other Baylor offices such as financial aid, registrar, and OALA
- Place and release registration holds each trimester based on student completion of current enrollment needs
- Create and organize student engagement events, newsletters, and media posts for academic and social outreach
- Maintain academic education databases and all student files
- Contribute information and student data to strategic planning, program assessment, and data reviews for university and program accreditation requirements
Additional requirements:
- The position requires significant contact primarily with the program leadership and Student Support team.
- Advanced knowledge is required in planning and completing assignments, resolving conflicts, and coordinating work for students completing their academic education experiences.
- Demonstrates confidence in interpersonal communication and teamwork including ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrates knowledge of correct business practices and correspondence including English grammar, composition, spelling, and punctuation.
