Job Description:


Clark University seeks a results-oriented individual to join a strategic team of professionals in its annual giving program, The Clark Fund. Currently a $2.8 million per year program, the Clark Fund seeks significant growth as the University works toward advancing its fundraising operation. Under leadership of The Executive Director of Alumni & Friends Engagement and The Clark Fund, this position will work collaboratively with the University Advancement team to ensure donor retention and increased annual giving to The Clark Fund.


Major Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a frontline fundraiser responsible for the retention, upgrade, and solicitation, of non-leadership annual donors to The Clark Fund. Comfort with making personalized solicitations, daily use of video, phone, and email are needed for success in this role.
  • Plays a key role in solicitations during annual campaigns and giving days including the Cougar Challenge, Spree for Clark, calendar-year end, fiscal-year end, and others.
  • Tracks all prospect outreach and information in Raiser's Edge and produce contact reports in a timely fashion.
  • Assists colleagues managing reunion classes and key volunteer groups with fundraising and solicitation strategies.
  • Assists the Executive Director with recognition, cultivation, and stewardship of donors below the leadership annual giving threshold.
  • Tracks trends in annual giving donor activity, focusing on donor retention and building annual giving donor base.
  • Analyzes engagement data to create strategy and solicitation plans that will increase dollars and donors to The Clark Fund.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1 year of fundraising experience preferably in higher education or a comparable number of years in a sales/marketing position.
  • Demonstrated success soliciting for an annual fund or comparable program
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills are required, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM technology.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Effectively steward confidential information to ensure sensitive data and donor information is handled with care.
  • A successful candidate will become familiar with Clark's academic and extracurricular programs and its students, faculty, volunteers, alumni and others to help advance Clark's mission and values.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work is required as well as occasional travel within MA and New England.
