We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Director to join our team. As an Assistant Director, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to our residents. You will assist the Director in overseeing the daily operations of the Recreation Department and ensuring that our residents receive the highest quality of care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in managing the overall operations of the facility
- Provide direct care and support to residents, including assistance with activities of daily living
- Develop and implement recreational therapy programs to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents
- Coordinate and plan events and activities for residents, such as outings, parties, and educational programs
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of each resident
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and policies related to senior care and nursing home operations
- Assist in training and supervising staff members to ensure they provide excellent care to residents
- Maintain accurate records of resident care, progress, and any incidents that occur
Experience
- Previous experience in skilled nursing / long term care or a related field is required
- Knowledge of Recreational therapy principles and techniques is highly desirable
- Familiarity with social work practices and principles is beneficial
- Strong event planning skills are preferred
- Understanding of aging issues and counseling techniques is advantageous
- Knowledge of Sigma EMR is a plus
