Qualifications:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day HR operations, including labor relations, recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and resource to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including but not limited to conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Actively participate in labor union negotiations and collaborate with union representatives to address grievances and resolve disputes effectively.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or misconduct allegations, ensuring a fair and impartial process and maintaining confidentiality throughout.
- Provide guidance and support to department managers on labor relations matters, including interpreting collective bargaining agreements and addressing union-related issues.
- Collaborate with the Director of People Operations and senior management to develop and implement strategic initiatives to support employee engagement, retention, and development.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management, with at least 3 years of experience dealing with union grievances successfully in a New York City setting.
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly as they relate to labor relations and collective bargaining agreements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a proven track record of effectively managing difficult situations and achieving positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
