Job description

Xavier University's Division for University Relations strategically engages Xavier alumni, community, students, employees and donors to further the University's philanthropic initiatives. Through authentic relationships built across a wide range of channels, University Relations staff cultivate meaningful connections with constituents in order to further the University's mission of educating students intellectually, morally and spiritually in the Jesuit Catholic, liberal arts tradition.

Xavier seeks a talented, driven and compassionate Assistant Director for Alumni and Parent Relations, Marketing and Communications Coordinator to help advance the mission of the University by coordinating the implementation of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for University Relations. This position will help support the three areas of focus adopted by University Relations: alumni engagement, recruiting students and fundraising through the effective coordination of a comprehensive divisional communication plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee all data-driven constituent engagement strategies for the Office of Alumni Relations
  • Manage, schedule, design and edit outbound email communications, including the monthly alumni newsletter and alumni chapter communications
  • Oversee the preparation of data files for mailings and electronic distributions
  • Coordinate and manage all University Relations communication with external constituent groups
  • Oversee the Alumni All Card program by serving as the primary contact for all requests and inquiries in conjunction with the Director of Alumni Relations
  • Assist the Executive Director for Alumni and Parent Relations in developing and implementing an annual strategic communications calendar that ensures resources are utilized in a manner that provides the greatest return for the Division
  • Assist the Executive Director for Alumni and Parent Relations in implementing a strategic communications plan for alumni chapter networks
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Marketing and Communications to develop, review and update University Relations website content for the Office of Annual Fund and the Office of Alumni Relations

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, consumer analytics or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing best practices, non-profit marketing, higher education advancement and marketing data analytics
  • Strong working knowledge of HTML
  • At least a bachelor's degree in a related field of study

  • Knowledgeable - The ability to lead the Department's data-driven consumer engagement strategies through review of current digital systems and practices
  • Technical - The ability to utilize software and Department programs to perform all essential job functions
  • Writing and Editorial - The ability to generate excellent written content free of errors and consistent with University editorial standards
