Reporting to the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director of Alumni Relations' (Associate Director of Alumni Engagement) primary responsibility is to manage and support the development of a robust, comprehensive Alumni Engagement program that expands relationships, recognition, and pride for more than 30,000 alumni and learners. This position develops and promotes alumni programming over three campuses that supports the mission and the strategic goals of the University of Illinois College of Medicine. This employee is a team member in the Office of Medical Advancement.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) in communications, business administration, marketing, public relations, or a closely related field.
- Three years of work experience in Alumni Relations, advancement, volunteer engagement, special events, meeting planning, social media management, or a related field.
- Exhibited ability to interact comfortably, tactfully, and effectively with alumni, donors, volunteers, and internal constituents of diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team-based organization.
- Excellent oral and written skills and strong planning and administrative skills.
- High professional and ethical standards in all matters, including the handling of confidential information.
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) and database management essential.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours. Peak event periods require additional hours including evenings and weekends.
