Agency Overview: The Safe Center LI, Inc. (TSCLI) is the leading provider of services to victims and
survivors of interpersonal violence in Nassau County. The agency provides comprehensive services to
victims and survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, and human
trafficking. The Safe Center is a thought leader that seeks to develop and implement innovative
interventions to meet the multifaceted needs of victims and survivors.
Summary: The Advocacy and Case Management Department provides comprehensive wraparound
services to victims and survivors across the lifespan who have been impacted by child sexual and severe
physical abuse, rape/sexual assault, domestic/intimate partner violence, and human trafficking, with the
goal of empowering and equipping them with information, support, and resources to meet their needs
and engage in informed decision-making.
The Assistant Director of Advocacy andCase Management supports the overall functioning of the
department by providing supervision to direct service staff and volunteers working with survivors across
the lifespan. This position reports to the Director of Advocacy and Case Management.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the Survivor Advocate for Emergency Response (SAFER) program, including
- referral coordination, training and supervising volunteers who provide direct service to
- victims and survivors, and maintaining relationships with local hospitals
- Provide supervision to direct service staff from the Child Victim Advocacy & Case
- Management, Adult Victim Advocacy & Case Management, and SAFER programs,
- including referral coordination, case assignment, case monitoring, and protocol
- development
- Maintain positive relationships with interagency and multidisciplinary partners,
- including medical personnel, law enforcement, child protective services, prosecutors,
- family court, clinicians, and other community providers
- Contribute to agency’s leadership team
- Facilitate team meetings
- Utilize web-based electronic health record databases to maintain case notes and statistical
- records and complete grant reports
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director and/or Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years’ experience in human service work, specifically the areas of case
- management/casework and program coordination and monitoring
- Experience working with trauma survivors, knowledge of dynamics of interpersonal violence,
- and the ability to adopt a client-centered/strengths-based approach and growth mindset
- Significant experience with interdisciplinary work and supervision strongly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are required
- Spoken and written fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Technology fluency: Must be familiar with the use of a computer, fax machine, copy machine,
- Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and
- SharePoint), and Zoom
HOURS, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Position requires the use of a car and a flexible schedule
- Full-time, non-exempt (35 hours/week)
- Monday through Friday 9AM-5PM (may need to flex time to meet program needs)
- Includes medical, dental, vision benefits and a generous paid time off package

- Mileage reimbursement provided for agency-related travel
- Position may require occasional overnight travel to conferences/training
- Annual salary: $60,000 / $65,000 Bilingual
