JOB SUMMARY
The Project Director for Office of Violence Against Women's (OVW) Grant to Reduce Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence and Stalking on Campus works to implement comprehensive, coordinated responses to violent crimes on campus and is responsible for the planning, implementation and tracking of the PLEXUS Grant (Protecting Learning Experiences for University Students) at D'Youville University. The Project Director will work collaboratively with local law enforcement, Crisis Services of WNY, Family Justice Center and internal university partners to implement a coordinated program to fulfill the goals of the grant.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is incredibly organized and can initiate and execute meetings with multiple constituencies with varying levels of understanding surrounding Sexual Violence. The Project Director will report directly to the Director for Student Development and Advocacy. This grant funded position has been funded for three years with the option to apply for grant renewal funding at the end of year three.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:
• Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities for the OVW grant, including all communication with the Department of Justice (DOJ) OVW, budget oversight and interim and final reporting;
• Organize Coordinated Community Response Team (CCRT), hold regular meetings with internal and external partners ensuring compliance with all program requirements;
• Create and implement an online curriculum for safety in experiential learning to be completed by 100% of students and clinical partners;
• Coordinate, manage logistics and lead trainings/educational opportunities related to grant subject matter;
• Ensure CCRT meets at least quarterly;
• Implement Green Dot training with faculty, staff and student leaders;
• Develop curriculum specific to experiential learning;
• Serve as team lead for all grant project activities;
• Attend Department of Justice offsite technical assistance trainings;
• Provide survivor services and advocacy as needed;
• Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.
• Maintain professional knowledge required of the position.
OTHER JOB DUTIES:
• Ability to work under the requirements of a grant-directed position
• Prepare required grant reports in coordination with appropriate parties
• Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated high level of organization with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes
• Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and produce a quality work product
• Strong writing and PC skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel)
JOB SPECIFICIATIONS:
Education:
• 1-3 years' experience with victim services and advocacy
• Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
Experience:
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administration, community agencies and governing boards
• Experience training and/or presenting to individuals and groups
• Ability to travel with dependable transportation
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
• An understanding of implementation of online education
• Experience working with a grant-funded project
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations;
• Handle multiple tasks and priorities at once while solving problems and thinking innovatively;
• Administrative, organizational, supervisory, and budget-management skills;
• Extended periods of sitting, standing, stair climbing, maneuvering objects of substantial weight;
• Must possess a student-centered personal philosophy
