Description
Reporting to the Dean, Frank G. Zarb School of Business, the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement is expected to utilize the resources of the School and the University to enhance the student experience and nurture continued community engagement. Working closely with the Dean's office team, department chairs, and faculty, the Assistant Dean for Student Engagement is expected to lead retention initiatives and deepen engagement across all stakeholders to enrich the community at Zarb.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Plans, schedules, promotes, and executes Zarb School programming in collaboration with the Associate Dean, including, but not limited to seminars, conferences, socials, business club fairs, executive speakers' series, and Dean's Business Scholar activities.
• Manages the Dean's Business Scholars program for high-achieving business students; plans and executes programming while managing program requirements and serving as a point of contact for Students; collaborates with Graduate Business Career Relations to manage Student Engagement for internship and career preparation.
• Manages student Ambassador Program including student recruitment and event assignment to infuse the student experiences into prospective student events.
• Interfaces with the Director of Residential Education & First Year Initiatives to facilitate programming in the Zarb Living Learning Community.
• Leads the Zarb Undergraduate Student Leadership Council and encourage collaboration between student organizations.
• Interfaces with Center for Career Design and Development and Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to secure speakers for first-year courses, including BBA 100, ENTR 115, and to connect Zarb students to potential recruiters.
• Collaborates with the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs to facilitate programming and events for the Zarb Graduate School student organizations.
• Facilitates the management of community programs including Zarb Entrepreneur Academy, Zarb Summer Business Experience, Ladder to Leadership, TECCS and Money and Me.
• Leads the School's efforts to grow our community engagement through new programs and initiatives.
• Assists in outreach activities to establish partnerships with community and government agencies to raise the School's profile and increase experiential learning opportunities for Students.
• Collaborates with the Senior Associate Dean in the development of strategies to increase student participation in global experiences offered by the Zarb School.
• Coordinates with the Associate Dean in managing student scholarships.
• Serves as the Advisor to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and manage associated activities including the induction ceremony, membership growth and member support.
• Assists in academic advising for both undergraduate and graduate students, as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned which are aligned with the mission of the Zarb School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in higher education administration with a focus on Student Engagement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with community outreach and programming.

Salary/Salary Range
$70,000 - $80,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
