Dealership Accounting Experience Required
The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing and reviewing the accounting and reporting for multiple entities and reports directly to the Controller. The role will support the Controller in overseeing the general ledger, monthly close process, audit preparation, and financial reporting. Must be a detailed and precise individual with the ability to maintain and support reporting deadlines.
Responsibilities
• Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company's financial status.
• Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
• Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
• Assists with preparations for audits.
• Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
• Ensures compliance with and prepare reports according to applicable government regulations.
• Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
• Delegates accounting tasks to junior accounting staff.
• Coordinates with and prepares reports for Dealer and upper management.
• Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a dealership Office Manager / Controller position
- Familiarity and expreience with DMS systems - CDK Preferred
- Working knowledge of dealership financial statements
- Ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner
- Excellent communication skills
