Job Description
Assistant Chief Instructor:
Responsible for the safety of students, instructors and assets. Ensuring flight operations are conducted in a passionate, professional, sustainable and ethical manner while delivering exceptional customer service experiences to students. Follows policies and procedures prescribed by Choice Aviation.
Schedule:
Assistant Chief Instructor is scheduled during Choice Aviation’s administrative hours of duty Monday – Friday, weekend coverage may be required. 30 hours of billable time per month is expected to be obtained.
Assistant Chief Instructor duties:
Ensure operations are conducted professionally and ethically without compromise to the safety of persons, assets, or property.
Recruitment and retention of flight instructors and students/customers by mentorship and avocation and to ensure exceptional customer service experiences.
Available in person, by phone or otherwise appointed during the time that training is given for an approved course per 141.85(b)
Follow and adhere to Choice Aviation’s policies and procedures to include:
Employee Handbook
Student, Renter and Aircraft Scheduling
Aircraft Dispatch and Return
Pilot services and Aircraft rental agreements
Safety Procedures, Standardization and Training Course Outlines
Maintain student records and documentation as required by company policy and FAA regulations.
Certify Enrollment and Graduation Certificates
Certify student training records per 141.85(a)(1)
Log stage check and end of course test reports on Google Drive
Conduct part 141 student stage checks and end of course checks
Conduct part 61 student progress checks
Conduct all certified flight instructors and certified ground instructors complete annual recurrent training per 141.85(a)(2) as assigned by Chief Instructor.
Recurrent training will be conducted every 12 calendar months after the month in which the initial training was accomplished by the Chief Instructor
Use the KPI Flight School report on Google Drive, track flight training data to help manage flight school stability and growth.
Track enrollment and retention rates
Track stage checks, end of courses, and checkride pass rates
Ensure full-time flight instructors are flying a minimum of 60 hours per month
Ensure training is conducted efficiently by instructors
Tracking billable and blocked efficiency
Average flight training hours per course
Any other duties as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor
