Job description

BIGHORN AIRWAYS, INC. is expanding our flight ops department we are seeking an Assistant Chief Pilot to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of customers and employees and be involved in the daily flight operation. The Assistant Chief Pilot will assist in the development, distribution and compliance of flight operations policy and procedures.

Bighorn Airways is a diverse aviation company which includes operating a fleet of aircraft on US government contracts for smoke jumping and para cargo operations in Alaska and the lower 48, as well as overseas. BHA is a DOD approved air carrier. Additionally, Bighorn Airways operates a busy Part 145 MRO. Bighorn Airways has been a leader in the aviation community in Wyoming and the Inter-mountain West for over 50 years.

Requirements:
Minimum 3500 total time, PIC in airplanes 2000 hours, PIC airplane multi engine land 200 hours, PIC turbo prop 100 hours, 250 hours PIC large aircraft, 200 low level, ATP with a valid First Class

Medical.

Preferred 5000 total time 1000 hours PIC turbine multi-engine.


Desired Part 121 experience. Preferred PIC type rating and experience.

  • Strong computer background including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Be able to work effectively under time constraints and pressure
  • International operations and military experience is preferred.


Responsibilities:

  • Fly company aircraft on charter and contract
  • Work closely with appropriate people to maintain training records, TSA records, Hazmat record, flight logs and pilot records
  • Assist Chief Pilot and Director of Training with multiple projects
  • Help supervise all pilots to ensure standard operating procedures are adhered to.
