Job Summary:
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Convenience Store Manager who enjoys working with the public and has a friendly, outgoing personality, as a team-oriented company, we are seeking and individual who can be flexible with work hours. The ideal candidate provides exceptional customer services and display a positive attitude when interacting with customers and employees.
Responsibilities:
The Assistant Convenience Store Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of a high-volume convenience store and gas station. This position will at times take over the managerial duties when the store manager is unavailable. The Assistant Store Manager will assist in coordinating the display of products and attending to incoming deliveries as well as directing and training team members.
• Assists Store Manager with the daily operations of the Convenience Store.
• Assist with the effective scheduling and supervision of employees. Cover calls outs and scheduling gaps as needed.
• Assist with training positive individuals to become strong team members, always ensuring excellent customer service.
• Quickly and efficiently resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.
• Enforce established daily operation procedures to ensure the store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and operating efficiently.
• Remedy any issues such as exchange and refunds in a quick and efficient manner leading to returning customers.
• Achieve company objectives in customers service by ensuring that all customers feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times.
• Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a sage manner.
• Memorize product locations throughout the store and be able to direct customers or make suggestions.
• Maintain accurate cash drawer and possess Knowledge of register operations, including cash, credit cards, gift cards, checks, casino, casino comps, employee perks/discounts and register receipts.
• Take a tally of the funds in the cash register when required during a shift and produce transaction reports.
• Any other job task that is assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements
Skills/Requirements
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Open Availability is required. Must be willing and able to work a variety of shifts, weekends, and overtime when needed. May have to cover calls outs and scheduling gaps on short notice sporadically.
• Mathematical skills and the ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
• Maintain a Positive, helpful attitude towards customers, including the ability to speak clearly and convey information accurately.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask.
• Ability and knowledge of operating registers, scanners, scale, and credit cards/debit card terminals.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and twisting and standing for long periods of time.
• A minimum of six months' convenience store experience is required.
• Six months of managerial, team lead or supervisory experience in retail, food service or convenience store is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions such as standing for long hours, bending lifting weights etc. with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be professional and friendly and be able to get along with coworkers and work as a team.
