Assistant Brewer

We are looking for an Assistant Brewer to join our production team. Your primary responsibilities will be wort production, cellar maintenance, and packaging. Some experience in a brewery is preferred but not required. On the job training will be provided but a passion for craft beer is a must.

Key Responsibilities: Your duties may cover many areas of the company at times. Your primary responsibilities are:

*Work with Head Brewer and Lead Brewer to optimize brewing and cellar practices to continually improve beer quality, brewery efficiency, and safety across all of our brewing operations. *Wort production (often starting at 6am) on 15bbl brewing system 2-3 days per week. *Cellar work: CIP tanks, gravity/pH checks, dry hop, biofine, carbonate, package beer. *Packaging beer on our CODI canning line ~1 day per week. *Participate in recipe creation and adjustments, inventory management and production planning. *Daily cleaning of brewery and ensuring that cleaning and sanitation SOPs are adhered to. *Receive and organize raw materials. *Assist with barrel-aged beer program (clean and wild). *Assist in preventative maintenance of equipment. *Assist with company-wide beer education and occasional onsite and offsite events. *Exemplifying Alibi’s Core Values: Passion for our Craft, Ownership in Every Role, Success as One Team, and Good Times For All. *Occasionally representing Alibi at outside events. *Maintaining an open mind, flexibility and willingness to adapt to change. Physical Requirements:

• This work requires standing for long periods of time, heavy lifting (up to 165 lbs) and working safely around dangerous chemicals.

Required Qualifications:

*Must be a minimum of 21 years of age *Must be able to read, write, and speak English *Team oriented, flexible, can work independently *Love for all things beer

Preferred Qualifications:

*1 year brewing experience *Packaging experience

Employment Status: Hourly, full-time, year-round

Compensation

*Hourly: Your starting pay upon beginning work full-time with Alibi will be $20 per hour. Compensation will be revisited during your 60-day review. *Paid Time Off: accruing at a rate of 15 days per year for the first year of employment. *Promo/Comp: $300 per month *Health Insurance: after 60 days of employment, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in Alibi’s group health insurance plan. Alibi pays 60% of the policy cost for all hourly team members. *Chiropractic: access to company-paid chiropractic adjustments at Lake Tahoe Wellness Center in Kings Beach.

Reporting: Assistant Brewer reports to Head Brewer, Matt Garcia.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
