Assistant Brewer

Assistant Brewer at Antimony Brewing

Compensation: $18-$23 depending on experience level

Supervision: Reports to Head Brewer

Responsibilities:

Performing all duties related to wort production and cellaring

Wort production from milling to knock out

Tank CIPs and SIPs

Fermentation management

Dry hopping, fruit/adjunct additions

Transferring finished beer to brite tanks

Raw material receiving and inventory management

Communicate openly and candidly with coworkers

Complete all batch documentation and record keeping

Assist with barrel-related processes as needed

Follow all SOPs, safety, and quality procedures

Keep brewery and malt room organized and clean

Support planned and reactive maintenance when requested

Setup, breakdown, speaking, and pouring at marketing events

- Any other brewery or marketing related duties requested by the Head Brewer
- Serve as the face and voice of our brand at various events and promotional activities

Critical Thinking:

Develop a thorough understanding of equipment and operation, troubleshooting and maintenance

Assist with creation of new SOPs and improve on existing SOPs

Perform in-process and post-packaging sensory evaluation of beers

Skills and Knowledge:

Extensive knowledge of and a passion for craft beer and the brewing industry

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Professional brewing experience required

Remain calm under pressure when dealing with unexpected delays or changes

Interact well with coworkers, customers and other breweries

Strong work ethic and can do attitude

Ability to multitask, be a team player, or work independently

Hours, Travel, and Physical Requirements:

Must be 21 years old

Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

Ability to work in heat, and cold and wet conditions

Must be able to twist/turn and stand/walk on a continuous basis

Work with chemicals of varying composition

Ability to work all shifts, additional hours & weekends as necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
