Major/Essential Functions
Responsible for leading the Sport Psychology Department of Texas Tech Athletics. This position will oversee and lead the mental health and performance of all student-athletes, athletic teams, and staff as part of an integrated health and wellness team. Will work both clinically and administratively to meet the needs of the student-athletes and the department. This position will work with the administration to continue to develop the Sport Psychology Department and enhance and implement the vision established for the department.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Three (3) years experience in an intercollegiate athletics department or other work experience that would demonstrate the necessary background and knowledge. Must have a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

- Advise senior administrators on current issues related to the mental health and well-being of student-athletes.
- Develop and direct long-term strategic plan for and functioning of clinical and sports psychology department.
- Evaluate the performance of staff members within the clinical and sports psychology department.
- Support the collaboration between departments that fall under student-athlete health and wellness.
- Establish and implement a robust mental performance training program for each sports program and coaching staff.
- Guide organizational wellness initiatives that foster a culture of health among staff, coaches, and student-athletes.
- Maintain data on the utilization and general effectiveness of clinical and sports psychology departments.
- Create effective policies and procedures related to the clinical and sports psychology department.
- Provide mental and behavioral health services to student-athletes within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Demonstrate evidence of cultural competency and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice.
- Assist the Director of Clinical & Sport Psychology with supervising and training doctoral-level interns and graduate assistants.
- Comply with all the NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of strong leadership and communication skills and ability to manage and support psychology staff members.
- Experience in strategic planning, policy and procedure development, and program creation and evaluation.
- Strong skills in multidisciplinary collaboration and team-based health care.
- Experience in the identification and treatment of a wide array of mental health disorders or issues that impact athlete populations.
- Ability to advise non-clinical personnel on pertinent topics related to Psychological Health and performance.
- Demonstrate training in applied sport and performance psychology interventions.
- Experience with clinical outcome measurement and training in the scientist-practitioner model.
- Commitment to harnessing technology within clinical and applied services to improve outcomes.
- Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practices and high ethical standards.
- Doctorate degree(s) in the field(s) in clinical or counseling psychology.
- Licensed or license-eligible psychologist in the state of Texas.
- 5 years related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience and appropriate training/certification working with athletic populations in clinical and sport psychology.
- Knowledge of compliance with NCAA, University and Athletic Department Rules, regulations, and policies, state and federal policies and laws.
