Job Description
The Assistant Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer and/or Associate Athletic Trainer in the Athletic Training Center. This position will be directly responsible for the medical coverage of the football program and another secondary sport assignment. Coverage includes, but is not limited to: attending practices, games (home and away), weight training & conditioning sessions, as well as other team-related functions. Travel is required for in-season football. Candidates should be prepared to handle all medical referrals to team physicians as well as coordinating care in the prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning, organization and administration, and professional responsibilities that come with being a collegiate Athletic Trainer.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all sports medicine operations for assigned teams
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer/Health Care Administrator and Associate Athletic Trainer with:
- Pre-participation physical examination of all student-athletes
- Oversee all phases of rehabilitation for all student-athletes for assigned teams
- Staff education and in-service presentations
- Assistant Athletic Trainer Recruitment
- Other Athletic Trainers in coverage of athletic teams
- Maintain appropriate electronic medical record documentation
- Serves as liaison between the Sports Medicine staff and the Strength and Conditioning staff as well as Team Physicians
- Maintain ATC Athletic Training Room
- Cleaning
- Restocking
- Inventory of supplies between ATC and WAC Athletic Training rooms
- All medical records are kept in a confidential and secure manner
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date student-athlete medical records
- Assist with development and annual updates to the Operations Manual
- Administrative task(s) assigned based on experience and personal strengths
- Other assignments deemed appropriate by the Stetson Head Athletic Trainer/Health Care Administrator

Required Experience
- Athletic Trainer - Board of Certification
- Athletic Trainer - State Licensed in FL (or eligible)
- Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training OR Master's in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training for initial certification
- If Bachelor's Degree for Certification, Master's Degree in Related field is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate Athletic Training experience
- 2 years of collegiate (football) experience preferred
- BLS CPR Certification
