TITLE: Assistant Administrator
DEPARTMENT: Lower and Middle School (PS-8th Grade)
JOB TYPE: 11-Month Contract, Full‐Time
REPORTS TO: Lower and Middle School Principal
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required (candidates currently enrolled in an MA program may be considered)
- Possession of a valid Indiana teaching license
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience

Responsibilities:
- Leads staff members in professional development through coaching cycles and differentiated opportunities based on researched best practices
- Partners with teachers in selecting yearly professional goals for the improvement of instruction and encourages the staff to continue to grow professionally, implementing new approaches or strategies in the classroom
- Analyzes assessment data to monitor student progress and improve instruction
- Partners with principals in hiring, developing, and retaining of the teaching staff
- Supports the administrative team with discipline as needed and communicates appropriately with families
- Coordinates the work of school staff and the admin team to develop and implement instructional programs and teaching practices
- Promotes a school environment that is safe and conducive to individualized instruction, cooperative curriculum development, and student learning
- Assists in building and maintaining a safe and orderly school environment that meets the academic, social, emotional and physical needs of each student

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires prolonged standing and sitting, bending, stooping and stretching. Position requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Position requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Position requires occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee works in a typical school setting. The employee must be able to multitask, as students frequently need attention during a typical school day.
