- Perform the timely month-end accounting close by the third business day of the month, meeting all corporate reporting deadlines.
- Prepare journal entries, spreadsheets, and reports as needed in order to efficiently and correctly generate site financial statements.
- Provide site and corporate management with relevant financial and management reporting each month and on an as-needed basis.
- Educate users regarding report implications.
- Express opinions to management regarding financial results and possible outcomes of decision-making.
- Be an advocate for corporate site-driven financial initiatives such as new software implementation, new accounting methodologies, business process improvement, and corporate and site initiatives.
- Maintain skill set through a combination of continuing professional education, reading of current business and accounting literature, membership in professional societies and a general awareness of current societal and business trends.
- Perform job duties and responsibilities according to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
- Perform all job duties and responsibilities in an ethical manner.
- Maintain confidentiality of data and knowledge as required.
- Comply with all corporate and professional guidelines regarding personal integrity and business ethics.
- Comply with requirements of ISO 14001 and Environmental, Health, and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support.
- Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
- In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
- Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the Quality Policy.
- Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Familiar with a Public company.
- Minimum of 5-7 years accounting management position, with increased accounting management level responsibilities.
- Requires thorough practical knowledge of theories, principles, and systems in a professional job function and a general understanding of related job functions.
- Applies understanding of the business and industry standards and how own area integrates with others to achieve unit objectives, monitors business trends and market developments in own field.
- Manages a team of professional employees, may occasionally have subordinate M1/M2s; adapts plans and priorities to meet team service, business, and operational objectives.
- Recommends operating policies and establishes procedures and approaches for the team(s) managed; identifies and drives business, product, service, and process improvements.
- Identifies and resolves functional, technical, operational, and organizational problems in a specialized area of expertise based on existing policies, procedures, and solutions.
- Considers multiple sources of information to proactively identify the best course of action for teams managed.
- Adapts plans and processes to meet business, operational, service, and project challenges; reprioritizes objectives, milestones, etc. as required.
- Makes decisions that impact the finances, results, effectiveness, and level of service provided by the team.
- Guides by using policies, resource requirements, budgets, and team plans, impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives.
- Influences others either internally or externally to build collaborative relationships, achieve goals, and effectively guide them to understand more complex issues.
- Participates in briefings and technical meetings concerning specific projects, operations, and schedules.
- Operates with a high level of discretion to gain the cooperation of others.
