Asset Protection Field Investigator

This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary.

Essential Functions
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Supports the reduction of shrink within a region by developing cases for further onsite investigations; synthesizing complex data and information for leadership; assisting others (Market Asset Protection Manager, Asset Protection Manager) in prioritizing investigative cases; and influencing the strategy to help reduce risks
  • Leads the development of fellow Asset Protection associates by teaching others how to follow company Asset Protection procedures; establishing processes to monitor loss; following merchandise security procedures that minimize shrink; recommending and implementing plans for deterrence and detection of merchandise, property, or injury loss.
  • Manages data analysis projects by developing and communicating scope of work; ensuring consistency in all projects; analyzing, planning, and structuring data findings; interpreting data and making recommendations to regional senior management; and presenting findings, deliverables, and recommendations to stakeholders to support the business
  • Conducts, assigns, and oversees offsite investigations and develops cases (for example, theft, shrink, etc.) by monitoring electronic surveillance for a region; reviewing trends and Associate and Customer behaviors; analyzing transactional data; adjusting and refining algorithms in the system; writing the logic for queries for to identify trends across a broad region; assigning work and responsibilities to others in order to investigate and lead the progress of investigations; synthesizing complex data and information for leadership; and influencing the strategy to help mitigate and reduce risk.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

Work Environment
Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position.

  • Moves over slippery surfaces in the work area as well as other areas that may become slippery during inclement weather.
  • Works in areas requiring exposure to varying temperatures, extreme heat or cold, and/or wet, damp, or drafty conditions.
  • Works overnight as required.
  • Works varying shifts as required.

Entry Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Meets applicable state requirements to work in Asset Protection, such as, minimum age, specialized training, certification and/ or licensing.
  • Passes an enhanced criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in Security, Military, Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.
  • Degree in (or in pursuit of) Criminal Justice or other applicable field.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
