Role description:

Our Asset Management (AM) consultants contribute to the delivery of our asset management solutions. As an AM consultant, you will help shape our customer engagements, deliver advice on asset management best practice, provide a key contribution to the successful delivery of our digital AM solutions, and help build Gen's reputation for being a leader in our chosen markets.

Our AM Consultants are part of a diverse and knowledgeable Solutions Delivery Group, and opportunities to secure experience across the asset management discipline, across our target market sectors, and across digital technologies will be part of your Gen career.

Role accountabilities:

As an Asset Management Consultant with a finance specialism, your responsibilities are varied and challenging, and will include the following activities.
  • Project Delivery: You will be instrumental in contributing to the successful delivery of our transformative Engineering & Asset Management (EAM) and Enterprise Decision Analytics (EDA) projects and programs. The scope of contribution can range from providing customer advisory services, to requirements gathering and process definition, through solution design, development and testing, and on to deployment and support.
  • Solution Specification and Design: You will have the opportunity to contribute to continuing the development of Arcadis Gen's solutions, aligning these to our customers' challenges and working with our Product & Technology Teams to develop the solutions and products our customers need.
  • Taking Responsibility: For assigned project duties and bringing a professional and systematic approach to your work. You will also be expected to utilise your relationship development, stakeholder management and communication skills in order to develop high-performing relationships with customer and colleagues.
  • Shaping your Growth: Gen is committed to being a learning organisation and investing in the continuous professional development of its people. Whilst we will provide you with coaching and support, we will be expected to take ownership of your personal learning and engage pro-actively with a range of learning avenues we provide.
  • Managing risks and opportunities: Our AM consultants are customer facing, and we expect them to help identify and effectively manage any risks that may impact on project delivery - working pro-actively with the assigned project manager. Additionally, a significant contribution of our new business comes from identifying opportunity to grow our delivery to our current customer, and high performing AM consultants will be active in seeking out opportunities to apply Gen's products and solutions to benefit our customers.

Qualifications & Experience:

As a finance specialist, AM Consultant, you will have a broad appreciation of the role of asset management in helping the asset intensive organisation deliver on their business objectives. You will have experience of the role of AM information systems in supporting effective asset management, as you may well have experience of implementing such solutions.

The finance specialist role will deliver on all aspects of functional program delivery but will act as a subject-matter-expert (SME) in the financial aspects of enterprise asset management. You will be an authority on integrations to ERP systems and will have a deep understanding of how accounts and general ledgers are managed in the system. You will also have a solid understanding of the underlying financial principles and data associated with procurement and stock management

You will be a problem solver, applying the wealth of Arcadis Gen's corporate knowledge and products to meet our customers' needs. You will be an active and influential member of our high-performing AM project delivery teams, with strong customer engagement and communication skills, and bringing an analytical and logical approach to your work.

You may also have a background as an Asset, Infrastructure or Transportation Engineer, Designer, Compliance Manager or an Operations Manager with extensive experience and in-depth understanding of Asset Management, innovation and driving performance through the use of EAM systems. We would be especially interested if you have been involved in the implementation of Asset Management systems / rollouts or have been part of continuous-improvement projects for EAM, performance or Analytics functions.

Within your work, you will incorporate sustainability best practice into project delivery and product development, contributing to the delivery of Arcadis Gen's sustainability targets and working with our customers to unlock improvements that drive toward a sustainable future

Must-haves:
  • Solid experience in a consulting role within an asset management or analytics context.
  • An analytical approach to understanding describing, modelling and solving real world problems.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including conveying technical information.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and team management, coaching or mentoring skills and experience
  • Understanding of the asset lifecycle, the role of EAM and enterprise analytics solutions and delivery of implementation projects
  • qualified in Engineering, Science, Technology or Business-related subjects, or the ability to demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Alternatively, significant hands-on experience of operational or maintenance management.
  • Technical projects and products
  • Experience of BI reporting
  • EAM system experience: IBM Maximo or other EAM systems such as Infor, SAP, Oracle etc.

Nice-to-haves:
  • Working knowledge of ISO 55000 and/or other relevant AM standards
  • Database experience: Relational and/or Geospatial / Oracle, DB2, SQL
  • Experience of GIS or CAD systems
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle and SAP
  • Experience of working closely with Agile Product teams building new software solutions
  • A chartered professional, or working towards chartered status or membership of accredited Professional institution
