Summary



Join King County Parks as an Asset Management Analyst and be at the forefront of enhancing our operational efficiency. You will be instrumental to the success of our Asset Management, preventative maintenance, and technical training processes, which will ensure our ability to provide open and accessible parks, trails, and open spaces for our community.
About the Role:
This role will maintain routine processes within Parks’ Work & Asset Management System. The role will support a variety of upcoming Operations asset inventory projects and new system implementations, such as backcountry structures, signs, mowed areas, artwork, and more.
This role plays a crucial part in the Division’s goals to steward, enhance, and acquire parks to inspire healthy communities. In resource management planning, knowing what you maintain and how much of it you have is step one in understanding how to appropriately staff and resource your agency.
This role will interact with a large variety of work crews and programs, which keeps the job interesting and provides a unique opportunity to increase knowledge in infrastructure standards, construction best practices, and government regulations. The parks system continues to grow, providing more recreational and environmental benefits, but also unique challenges for Operations to keep up with the demand. This role will play a role in improving operational efficiencies and keeping up with our growing inventory.
This position performs work remotely and onsite.
About the Team:
Parks’ Operations section is responsible for a wide variety of tasks to keep all King County parks safe and enjoyable, including:

  • Maintaining and repairing facilities;
  • Preparing and maintaining athletic fields;
  • Preserving and restoring ecological lands, including invasive weed control and vegetation management; and
  • Other day-to-day activities to beautify, preserve and protect King County parks.
The Operations section is organized into 12 maintenance districts, two business units, five specialty programs, six professional support teams, and two public service programs.

Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Monitor Work Order closeout and record asset inventory changes.
  • Program and maintain automated Preventative Maintenance (PM) Work Orders.
  • Provide internal customer service and training for front-line staff to help with current system functionality.
  • Update training and technical documentation.
  • Perform routine quality control tasks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Data analysis and reporting.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:

  • Experience performing administrative tasks within an Asset Management or work management relational database.
  • Experience writing technical documentation (Standard Operating Procedures or Software Instructions).
  • Experience managing files within a modern SharePoint/Teams environment.
  • Experience working with GIS tools such as Field Maps, ArcGIS, or similar mapping software.

It Would Be Great if You Also Bring:
  • Graduate of Pacific Northwest Resource Management School (PNWRMS) or similar school/program with a focus on asset/resource management of developed land, facilities, and natural resources.
  • Experience working within Lucity (Enterprise Asset Management) system.
  • Experience programming with SQL (Structured Query Language).
  • Experience working for a company/agency involved in public services such as parks, potable water, stormwater, solid waste, wastewater, construction, or similar industry.

Supplemental Information

Working Conditions:


  • Remote and Onsite Work Details:
    Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typicallytwo (2) days a week. This frequency may change to up to five (5) days a week once the Central Maintenance Facility in Renton is built. The primary onsite reporting location is Clise Mansion at Marymoor Park (6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052) and may change to the Central Maintenance Facility in Renton once built. Other onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104). This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department’s vision of Green Where We Work.
  • Remote Work Location Requirement: Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.
  • Union Representation: This position is not represented by a union.
