Assembly Worker

Title of the position:Assembly Worker

Location: Houston, TX

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Overall responsibility: Primary duty is assembly and hydrostatic testing of tubular oilfield components used in downhole oil well completions.

Key areas of responsibility

• Operation of hand tools and basic air tools
• Parts are generally heavy (excess of 200 lbs.’) and require the use of overhead crane
• Should be capable of reading scaled manufacturing drawings as well as capable of using dial calipers and analog OD/ID micrometers to verify dimensions of machined components
• Will be required to perform lot-batch management of raw materials and components as per assembly procedure
• Operate hydrostatic pressure test equipment to 4000 psi in the testing and qualification of finished components
• Operate hydraulic press in assembly centers
• Operate hydraulic torque/turn machine and be familiar with torque turn specifications as per API specifications
• Employees will be required to become forklift certified and operate a 3,500 lb. forklift
• Perform other duties as required or requested
• Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures
• Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Team player and supportive of department
• Needs good vision, coordination and dexterity to deal with handling and manipulating materials and parts
• Must be able to focus on the task at hand with great attention to details
• High level of physical stamina and strength necessary for repetitive work and long periods of standing, bending, twisting and lifting

• Ability to make decisions which have significant impact on the department’s credibility, operations and services
• Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on short/long term basis’

Physical requirements

• The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
• The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day

Additional Information

• FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
• Work environment- safety sensitive
• Overtime required as needed, but not guaranteed
• Must have flexible schedule to work weekends and holidays required as needed due to customer needs etc.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening
