Our Technicians are responsible for creating and preparing the composites parts and the final assembly of the window unit’s outer shell/frame. The creation of our composite parts begins with a lay up process where only dry materials are used. A Gerber machine is operated to cut all parts, heat resistant foam materials are laid onto the window unit shell, then a heat gun is used to bind the materials onto the shell. After the lay up process is complete, the shell is then vacuum sealed before being placed into oven.
Candidates should possess the following:
· Careful attention to detail
· Dexterity: delicate/light touch required
· Basic knowledge of hand tools (i.e., heat guns, machines, and measuring devices)
· Ability to read work instructions, engineering drawings, or process specifications
· Willingness to learn
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is provided as the materials used contain carbon fiber and fiberglass resin. Our Composite team is cross trained to perform all tasks in the entire composite process.
