Assembly MIG Welder – 2nd Shift
General Description:
MIG or TIG welding as primary responsibility in this position. In addition, the MIG or TIG Welder will be expected to assist with changeover and other assembly activity when required. The MIG or TIG Welder shall weld in production or repair defective panels when necessary. The position reports to the Assembly Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Support and follow the Company Safety Programs
- Support and follow Quality & Environmental Programs
- Ability to work independently without constant supervision
- Respectfully communicates with team members and other support groups
- Reads and understands work instructions and quality documents
- Understands quality expectations and ensures necessary documentation is completed properly
- Completes production documentation accurately
- Maintains and organized and tidy work place free of debris and trip hazards
- Assembling of designated panels to production standards and specifications
- Uses process sheets to set up and achieve first piece approval of set up processes
- MIG or TIG Welding of designated panels to production standards and specifications
- Perform all other work as deemed necessary by supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in welding required, MIG or TIG experience preferred
- Certified Welding is preferred
- Ability to make repeated hand, arm and shoulder motions
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for extended periods and bend at knees and hips
- Ability to work with hands: holding, twisting, pulling and pushing
- Forklift Operator’s License
Job Location:
Performed on the plant floor.
Equipment Used:
MIG & TIG welders, spot welding equipment, hand tools, protective gloves, arm guards, earplugs and safety glasses. Electric or gas forklift if required.
