Stockroom Attendant starts 7am-4pm
Accounting Department- staggered shift of 6am,7am,8am
*Spanish speaking is okay but must read and understand English.
*High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Prep candidates for Casa Herrera's hiring process: Casa Herrera will send them to their preferred clinic for drug screen and physical:
  1. Drug Screen= 5 panel and rapid results. (Marijuana is ok and will allow them to move to 2nd step/Physical). Candidates must bring their meds, if taking any, to clinic with them, ie: high blood pressure medicine, etc...
  2. Physical= Vision, hearing, back x-rays, lift test- takes 1 day to receive result
  3. Background- We must verify 3 past employers. It also depends a lot on how many employers they have had and the duration of their stay with each employer. Casa Herrera will do the background screening once a temp-to-hire converts. If it is direct hire then Casa Herrera will do it before they come on board.
  4. I9- we must verify
TESTS: We cannot provide copies of the tests. All positions are given a basic math test that includes adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing. They are also given a tape measure test and asked to identify 6 items. They are in 8ths, 16ths, 32nds, and 64ths. Electrical Assembly, Welding, Assembly, Machinist are given a blueprint test that relates to their specific area. The Machinist test is very detailed and has problem solving to determine certain things on how to calculate measurements etc. They also are given 2 questions in geometry and 2 in trigonometry. The tests are not designed for anyone to fail. They are questions that a person with experience in these areas should be able to answer without problems. We do realize that there will be some errors and do not expect a perfect test score. We have guidelines on what is a pass and what is a failure. The welders are asked to weld two samples. One is in TIG and the other in MIG. That is pretty cut and dry and can easily be seen as to whether someone passes or fails. We send pics of those that do not pass the weld test so you are able to see the reason why.
1st day- 3-4 hr safety orientation, lunch and then go to department to start work the rest of the day
at 520 hrs will evaluate/convert employee, Once converted, will increase pay, at next 90 days, there will be another evaluation of employee
Benefits- Eligible after 30 days of being hired on. Med, Dental, Vision- different plans. Portion paid by Casa Herrera.
401k eligible after 60 days of being hired on. must wait for open enrollment in June or December.
Casa Herrera has been in business for 70 years. They manufacture machines for food products for big giant companies such as: Food and Beverage, Client, General Mills.
They have large manufacturing equipment, not small parts. So someone who has worked with small parts is not a good fit. It takes months to custom build these machines.
Departments:
Mechanical Assembly
- skilled, blueprints, metal, hand tools, Required for Welding roles too-tig, fine, clean weld.
Welder- and Assembly/Weld- tig and mig weld- manual and know symbols. Must bring own weld mask and glasses. Must pass weld test before moves onto interview.
Machinists- must know how to calculate speeds and feeds. IE: material- how much you will need. Know blueprints, knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
Stockroom Attendant- get pick list, pull parts, locations needed, inventory
Purchasing Coordinator- someone from manufacturing, metals, not a buyer from retail.
Shipping & Receiving- creates boxes made to ship product along ocean, Carpenter- hand tools and saw experience
Engineering- is upstairs Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Drafters, Design and machinery
PM (Preventative Maintenance)- specialized, no Maint Mechanics, is outsourced
Office - accounting
Customer Service- 3 people in department
CS Expediter- handles what CSR needs, CSR takes calls, then gives order to plant to make, CSR Expediter makes sure all is on schedule with order.
Roller/Roller with tortilla chip cutouts- machine shop
Assembler I- cleaning room, any parts with small imperfections, wears mask, is dusty, Polish and Buffer- measure and operate tools
Tig Weld- on outside
Mig Weld- on inside
Tool Crib Attendant- handles tools needed by machinist
CNC's- makes product, custom parts, run machine, edit program, know how to work machine
Manual Lathes- makes parts- rods,tubes
Assembler II - Hours 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. $20 - $21 hr (1 needed- no welding!)
Assembles machine parts and components using a variety of hand and power tools. Able to read and follow mechanical blueprint instructions. Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools. Able to read a tape measure. Must be from a Manufacturing background.

Position Summary
Under the close supervision of the Assembly Leads, the Assembler II assembles parts and machines using physical strength and a variety of hand and power tools.
Essential Job Duties
  • Assemble machine parts and components using a variety of hand and power tools
  • Follow mechanical blueprint instructions to assemble machines and verify detailing
  • Advise the Lead or Supervisor of all problems
  • Assembles machines with minimal guidance
  • Scans jobs into the Made2Manage (M2M) and traveler systems
  • Follow all safety procedures in handling equipment and machines
  • Distinguish between parts and the detailing
  • Must meet deadlines
Other Duties
  • Move parts and components to the various departments on traveler
  • Welding
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Three years Assembler I experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical ability and knowledge of tools
  • Welding experience in tig and mig a plus
  • Requires minimum guidance to assemble machines
  • Knowledge of all safety procedures
  • Possess effective organization and time management skills, be detail oriented, use good judgment, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlines
