The opportunity

Under moderate supervision, The Assembler II performs various duties as related to the manufacturing, packaging, and labeling of Silk Road Medical Products and sub-assemblies. Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive assembly, including assembling components into medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures and performing in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product in accordance with quality system procedures. At the intermediate level, follows defined procedures and may train and mentor less experienced assemblers.

This is an on-site position.

A "Day in the life”

  • Assembles components into medical devices in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
  • Completes assigned duties, versatile across multiple areas and suggests improvements for product flow and process compliance.
  • Performs in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product in accordance with quality system procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records/documentation related to quality, work-in-progress, test results, labor. (e.g., timecards)
  • Identifies safety hazards on a regular basis for correction.
  • Reports all equipment and process-related problems to area supervisor including events and circumstances which could affect product quality, cost, and employee safety.
  • Works with engineers and technicians to resolve line issues and suggests improvements.
  • Works in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and current Good Documentation Practices (cGDP).
  • Achieves a standard of a safe work environment meeting company safety policies and all regulatory requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or education/experience required
  • Typically, a minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Prior medical device experience required.
  • Job duties are typically performed in a Cleanroom environment
  • The use of Personal Protective Equipment such as Latex/rubber/heat resistant gloves, UV eye protection, safety glasses, goggles, cleanroom gowning wear (smocks, head covers, beard covers, shoe covers) will be required.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing and keyboarding.
  • Occasionally, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Regularly using repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Occasionally, operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Regularly, touching, picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers.
  • Occasionally, stooping, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level

Additional skills you have

  • Moderate level of understanding of computer applications such as MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Progressive understanding of manufacturing procedures. Understands inputs and expected outcomes.
  • Ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to perform basic measurements using industry standard measurement tools
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess dexterity and be detail oriented.
