JOB SUMMARY
The ASP Intervention Specialist will implement IEP/ISP goals and objectives, curriculum and behavior management programs for students with Specific Learning Disabilities. The teacher will work as part of a team on behalf of the student with regular classroom teachers, administrators, and parents. QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Ohio K-12 Intervention Specialist license in Mild/Moderate Educational Needs
- Prior classroom experience preferred
OTHER KSAs
Knowledge of Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities
Knowledge of nonpublic school policies and procedures
Knowledge of Ohio laws and regulations governing the Auxiliary Services Program
Knowledge of FERPA and HIPPA
Knowledge of current educational issues and best practices
Knowledge of effective intervention strategies
Ability to use technology as both a productivity tool and as a method of communication; proficient in computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Docs)
Ability to maintain student records
Ability to analyze and interpret testing data
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, administrators, and public
Ability to model ethical principles and democratic ideals for students and the community

The ESC of Lake Erie West is the sponsor of community schools located throughout Ohio. As a sponsor, the ESC of Lake Erie West’s community schools staff is primarily focused on two main areas – compliance with state laws and regulations and promoting a strong academic program at each sponsored school.
Many state programs such as preschool accreditation, community schools, ongoing education, gifted education, public preschool, and others have been piloted through the ESC of Lake Erie West.
