The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a part-time Arts and Education Coordinator for the Kroc Center, under the Augusta Area Command, located in Augusta, GA.
Job Summary:
Implement and coordinate programmatic and staff/volunteer training strategies to grow Arts and Education programming for the Kroc Center. Coordinate planning, development, and implementation of Arts and Educational programs and classes. Provide supervision and training of subordinate volunteers and/or employees, ensuring that the mission of The Salvation Army, National Kroc Standards, and local needs are a top priority in all areas and activities.Assist the supervisor to ensure program operations follow established departmental policies and procedures and all programs are safe, expectations for classes and client services are set and met and department equipment is properly maintained.Duties will also include developing programs for the Kroc Center based upon ongoing needs assessment and strategic plan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the general practices of personnel supervision; knowledge of the Salvation Army mission; ability to work independently and as a part of a team; ability to communicate effectively with people in a teaching environment; ability to prepare effective printed material for educational and promotional purposes; ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army; ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate and complete manner.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Performing Arts, or related field; and three (3) years of experience leading and/or coordinating arts programming, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
None required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to read, write, and communicate the English language; ability to perform in front of a large audience. Work is performed in a community center facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Ability to stand for extended periods of time while leading performances.
