Job Description
Blazerworks, a leading education organization, is seeking an Art Teacher to join our team in Chicago Heights, IL. This position is for our Special Education Co-op, working with two schools with campuses next door to each other: the Program for Adaptive Learning serving 6th-12th grades and the Early Learning Center serving PreK-5th grades. The position is available immediately through May 24th, 2023 and may extend to the next school year. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging and effective art curriculum for students with special needs
- Provide instruction and support to students across a range of skill levels and abilities
- Foster creativity and artistic expression in students
- Plan and facilitate art projects and activities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary learning
- Attend and participate in meetings and professional development opportunities as required
Requirements:
- Active Illinois teaching license
- Active Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
