Knox College invites applications for the position of Art Studio and Gallery Technician. This position is a half-time (20 hours per week), non-benefited position. Reporting to the chair of the Art Department, this position assists in managing and maintaining the Whitcomb Art Center studio facilities. In addition, the position assists in management of exhibit installations at the Borzello Gallery. The successful candidate will be able to work in a diverse educational environment and be committed to the success of students from differing backgrounds and experiences.
Preferred Qualifications MFAGraphic Design experienceSkills related to woodwork, painting, metals, ceramicsBackground in exhibits planning or curatorial work.Ability to provide technical support to art students.Experience in repairs and maintenance of machines/tools. ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS Work Requirements Work is split between two locations one block apart: the Borzello Gallery in the Ford Center for Fine Arts and the Whitcomb Art Center. Physical Requirements
Work will consist of standing/walking, lifting objects of 50 lbs or more, and working in studios with dust and dirt.
