Summary of Responsibilities:
Works as a part of a team to provide a safe working environment for the staff, clients, and visitors. Protect Company assets from loss due to fire, severe weather, theft, and vandalism. Controls access to client property by ensuring appropriate identification and credentials of employees and visitors. Performs various security duties. Works with minimal supervision and is responsible for making an established range of decisions, escalating to Shift Supervisor when necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Is vigilant and observant while stationed at posts in lobbies.
- Monitors alarm and access control systems and responds within established procedures to all signals.
- Makes required patrols on interior and the exterior of the perimeter.
- Monitors CCTV and radios and responds within established procedures.
- Acts within established procedures to control access and provide a safe working environment for the client.
- Maintains records and makes written reports.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to think strategically and long term.
Work Setting:
This position works in both inside and outside environmental conditions. Position is required to remain in a continuously stationary position (sitting or standing) for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other office and security equipment and while on foot patrol.
Position Demands:
- On your feet for extended periods of time.
- Work outside during shifts and all-weather conditions.
Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required:
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn security-related software.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license.
- No record of conviction of a felony, or of a crime involving moral turpitude.
- Must have 40-hour Original Firearms Training.
- Must have current and valid FOID.
- Current State of Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
Work Schedule:
The work schedule includes 3 shifts. A shift will be assigned at time of hire and is based on operational need.
