Endries is currently searching for an Area Procurement Manager with proven leadership experience, progressive experience in a procurement role, comprehensive knowledge of the industry, and the drive to lead our West Coast team to success.
The Area Procurement Manager is a management role responsible for overseeing the entire procurement function for a specified area, including managing procurement teams, supplier relationships, inventory levels, material margins, and optimizing the acquisition of fasteners and related components.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for overseeing all customer-specific components related to the area across the entire spectrum of procurement and sourcing activities.
- Oversee and handle requests for new customer package and/or add-on quotes originating from within the area.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the team’s success and development.
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to identify cost-effective suppliers, negotiate contracts, and drive cost reductions while maintaining product quality and reliability for all parts within the area.
- In coordination with other areas, cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers, negotiate complex agreements, resolve issues, and ensure a dependable supply chain.
- Oversee inventory optimization efforts, including analyzing inventory data, demand patterns, and market trends to minimize carrying costs and reduce stock outs for the area’s parts.
- In coordination with other areas, lead and/or participate in the negotiation, execution, and management of supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring strict compliance with terms and conditions.
- Conduct advanced price analysis, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and value-added services from suppliers in order to defend and expand Endries profit margins and support the sales charter to proactively provide customers cost reduction opportunities.
- Collaborate with corporate sourcing to support supplier marketing programs aimed at identifying opportunities for new products/categories at the area level.
- Work together with corporate procurement to conduct periodic evaluations of vendor performance.
- Collaborate with centralized functions such as Quality, Part Set Up, Logistics, and IT to enhance our capability in managing the supply chain for area-specific parts.
- Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and innovations in fasteners and related products, leveraging this knowledge to make highly informed purchasing decisions.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to other procurement team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Generate complex and in-depth reports on procurement metrics, supplier performance, and cost savings for senior management and executive review.
- Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function for the area.
- Lead and support cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings, process improvements, and efficiencies within the procurement function.
- All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Proficiency in using advanced procurement software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite

- Comprehensive knowledge of fasteners, materials, industry standards, and market dynamics
- Effective written and oral communication abilities, along with strong presentation skills.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of progressive experience in a procurement or purchasing role within industrial distribution with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity; Fastener distribution industry strongly preferred
- APICS or CPM certifications a plus
Location: Western / Southern USA - Preferably Dallas, TX; Orange County, CA; Morgan Hill, CA; Seattle, WA (Must have ability to travel to states such as California, Washington, Texas, etc.)
Compensation: $110,000-115,000/year + incentive bonus program eligibility (Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors such as skill, experience, and qualifications for the role)
