Job Summary:
The Area Supervisor for Janitorial Services in Healthcare Facilities oversees and manages the cleaning and sanitation operations within a designated area of healthcare facilities. This role involves supervising cleaning teams, ensuring strict adherence to healthcare sanitation standards, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment, and fostering positive relationships with healthcare clients. The Area Supervisor is vital in upholding cleanliness and infection control standards in healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead and manage cleaning teams, including janitors and custodial staff, by assigning tasks, setting performance expectations, and providing guidance and support.
- Infection Control: Ensure that cleaning and sanitation protocols strictly adhere to healthcare industry standards and infection control guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee cleaning services to maintain the highest cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards within healthcare facilities.
- Client Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare clients, conducting regular site visits, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring their utmost satisfaction.
- Healthcare Compliance: Stay informed about healthcare industry regulations and compliance requirements for sanitation, cleaning chemicals, and infection control.
- Staff Training: Train, mentor, and develop cleaning staff in healthcare-specific cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and patient privacy.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency plans for infection outbreaks or other sanitation-related crises.
- Inventory Management: Manage cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and equipment inventory, ensuring readiness for infection control measures.
- Safety Awareness: Promote a culture of safety among cleaning teams, ensuring compliance with healthcare facility safety regulations and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on cleaning services, sanitation compliance, and staff performance to the Operations Manager.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or concerns about cleaning services promptly and effectively, working closely with clients and staff.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost control, and efficiency enhancement in healthcare facility cleaning operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (some college or vocational training in Janitorial Services or healthcare is a plus).
Proven experience in janitorial or custodial services, with at least [X] years in a supervisory or leadership role within healthcare facilities.
Strong knowledge of healthcare sanitation standards, cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and infection control procedures.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating with healthcare staff and patients.
Leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate and lead cleaning teams in a healthcare environment.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a hygienic and safe healthcare setting.

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet healthcare facility requirements.
Working Conditions:
