SUMMARY

We are looking for an AR Specialist to join our accounting team! The AR Specialist will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of accounts receivable collections for designated customers, emphasizing cash application, and ensuring adherence to deadlines. Reporting directly to the Billing Operations Manager, you will work closely with the team to meet objectives successfully.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily review of AR Aging, contacting customers to ensure timely collections and maintaining a DSO of 40 days or less. On larger receivables, earlier contact with customers to ensure invoices will be paid on time and have no issues
• Prepare and send statements to customers monthly.
• Maintain a detailed collections tracking spreadsheet, escalating concerns over 60 days to the manager.
• Collaborate with business divisions to independently manage collections and resolution processes, providing regular follow-ups.
• Prepare a weekly AR collections overview for the leadership team in coordination with the Billing Operations Manager – addressing collections concerns and potential Bad Debt.
• Monthly cleanup/resolution of o/s reconciling AR items (ie. shortpayments, overpayments, tax, prepayments, etc).
• Daily processing of AR cash receipts for all banks and currencies in ERP.
• Investigation of any unmatched or adjusted cash receipts in a timely manner.
• Manage AR Inbox for remittances, new customer requestions, etc.
• Process credit card payments related to collections and business requests.
• Assist with providing audit documentation related to AR billing/support and cash receipts.
• Other duties and projects as required by the Billing Operations Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar role with Collections and cash application focus
• Organized, analytical, detail-oriented individual with advanced problem-solving skills
• Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; Previous ERP experience an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently to achieve deliverables
