Provide customer service and assist with the operations of a busy outdoor water park.Position works 10-40 hours per week, and runs from May - September 2024. Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends & holidays as needed. Ticket Desk:
- Open ticket desk for daily operation/close ticket area.
- Collect admission fees/ honor discount tickets/confirm season pass holders.
- Count and verify cash bag and distribute appropriate change.
- Count cash drawer at end of shift and record totals.
- Operate cash register, keep appropriate change in register.
- Count daily visitors, enter in book.
- Keep common area clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Serve as concession sales person to the general public.
- Operate concessions equipment which includes- cash register, pop machine, hot dog cooker, ice maker, pretzel oven/warmer, etc.
- Assist with inventory of supplies and notify Concession Supervisor/Guest Service Coordinator when low.
- Count money, distribute appropriate change.
- Responsible for ongoing cleaning of concessions area, working to ensure area is being kept clean.
- May be assigned to clean locker rooms on a regular basis,
- May assist in pre-season preparation and/or post season close down of concession stand.
- Prepare all fresh concession items on a daily basis.
- Stock empty shelves (food & beverage).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist with crowd control on pool deck and locker rooms.
- Pick up trash, check for maintenance problems, and perform custodial work to ensure cleanliness and safety of pool and locker rooms.
- Set up and take down tubes, umbrellas, deck chairs and other related items daily.
- Maintain lost and found articles and items.
- Provide custodial services to the women's locker room at The Rec Center Aquatic Park, ensuring servicing at least every 30-45 minutes.
- Ensure standing water has been squeegeed into the drain.
- Mop floors.
- Pick up trash and empty trash receptacles as needed.
- Ensure adequate supplies (toilet paper, soap, paper towels, etc) are available.
- Perform other custodial services to ensure a clean and welcoming locker room.
Must be at least 15 years old.
Good math background and ability to work with numbers.
Important to have a pleasant personality and confidence in communicating with the public.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
For Women's Locker Room Attendant:
- Must identify as female.
- Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city's strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
- Interest or intent to become certified as a lifeguard in future seasons is preferred and encouraged.
- American Red Cross Guardstart or YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant Certification is preferred.
- Cash handling experience is preferred.
