Job Description
Summary
Responsible for inbound and outbound profiling and Lab Pack (paper pack) for Northern California branches. Develop strategies to maximum waste routing through the ACT logistics network. Centralize and standardize waste profiling for the company. Grow and maintain relationship with our key disposal vendors.
Accountabilities
- Profiling of waste streams throughout Northern California branches, with local Branch support
- Follow Corporate profile and Lab Pack Procedure
- Analytical lab results technical support may be required for TSDF approval
- Serve as a central internal point of contact for general information pertaining to key disposal vendors, including waste acceptance criteria and capabilities; profiling requirements; and pricing
- Develop corporate strategies related to waste routing and disposal options
- Codes CUS and profile requests for best option-Works directly with Director of Materials Management or Regional Sales Manager to balance best price, routing optimization, relationship etc.
- Participate in the management of the intercompany & vendor profile database
- Educate and train Branch business group personnel on proper profiling and disposal selection
- Profiling and consultative support on all high-haz and difficult to manage waste streams
- Data Administration into Corporate and Vendor data base is required
- Enter Profile and Lab Pack info into Corporate Data Base

- Enter TSDF Product code in EW
- If Product code does not exist, email Branch Biller to request one
- Product Code and disposal cost added in EW
- Confers with the client and sales to obtain accurate and complete information to properly characterize waste
- Supports Corporate strategies related to waste routing and disposal options
- Provides technical guidance related to RCRA (40CFR), DOT (49CFR), Waste characterization and Waste regulation in response to internal needs and client requests
- Understand, accept, and support ACT’s core values and ProACTive Safety Program
- Performs additional tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Knowledge of safety/compliance regulations in industry
- Knowledge of hazardous materials/waste industry
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, persuasion and interpersonal skills
- Thoroughness and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- A strong work ethic and positive, supportive attitude. Ability to be a self-starter, manage multiple priorities and manage details

- Ability to work extended hours when needed

- Ability to regularly lift more than 50 pounds
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related curriculum
- 10 plus year experience in hazardous materials/waste industry
- Extensive knowledge with RCRA and DOT regulations
- Successfully completed HAZWOPER 40 hour and DOT HM-181 courses (must have copies of certificates)
